Accessories
Like football and cricket, Subbuteo Rugby had its own range of accessories.

R200 - 15 man Team

The players for the game came in boxes of 15 (the number of players in rugby union), meaning there are two spare players when you play a game of league. For full details, see the teams page.

R201 SET B - One Floodlight

R207 - Referee and Linesmen

R213 - Ambulance and Police set

R217 - Line Flags

Ten flags for the outside of the rugby pitch. Three versions were made.

RC - Comprehensive Rules

There were several versions of the rules booklet as the rules were continually updated. Many people found the rules confusing and the game was never as easy to pick up and play as the football and cricket versions. Rules adaptations continue to be discussed across various websites and forums.

RF - Three rugby balls

The egg shaped brown balls, which are at times awkward to manoeveure around the pitch, came in packs of three.

RK - Kicker full back

There were two versions of the kicker and they were painted in to the various reference numbers of the teams. The kickers are used at various times during the game, mainly to convert tries and take penalties, where the full back can be flicked to kick the ball between the

RM - Rugby playing pitch cloth

Another accessory that came along twice, first in baize, latterly in nylon. The pitch was never marked with union or league markings, which at the time led to calls for separate versions for the two codes.

RN - Rugby goals

The H shaped rugby posts sold together, with a green base to enable them to rest on the surface easily.

RR - Brown plastic fence surround

Came in two different boxes, the first being a green box, like football, with a brown rugby sticker at each end, and also in a brown box.

RS - Rugby scrummer

Aimed to replicate the rugby scrum, you feed the ball through the hole in the middle and it comes out of one of the sides. Unfortunately, it's quite random, so there's no real benefit to having "head and feed" at the scrum while playing.

RZ - Match scoreboard

The scoreboard came with name and number tags to record the score. It came in three different boxes. Firstly all white with orange stickers, then a green football box with rugby stickers on the end and finally a brown box.
